The work investigates the male and female presences in the Mavericks Gentlemen’s Club in Cape Town, specifically, the male gaze and the female body that is subject to the male gaze and how the female body benefits financially from the male gaze. Some have suggested that both exotic dancers and their patrons are engaged in a mutually exploitative relationship.
